Why this story? This is a memoir. But it's not about the author, it's a story carried by the author.
'Father Hunger' is real! I estimate 50% of children suffer from this affliction to some degree. There are children with father hunger that have never seen their father. Still more are around their fathers, but far too infrequently. Others see their dads everyday, yet have no connection. The story is true, giving examples of the drama, struggles and lost knowledge the author and his siblings experienced that would not exist with a loving, nurturing father. 'The Power of Dadhood', my first book. was a mentoring book to help struggling fathers with advice and examples. 'A Vagabond Life' is the background of why I was motivated to write about DADHOOD. This book is sometimes sad, sometimes funny, and often incredulous. I hope you enjoy and learn from it. Michael Byron Smith |
